Texas Discovery Gardens: Biergarten & Exhibits - Dallas

Texas Discovery Gardens will serve up fresh food and fun during the State Fair of Texas. Relax at the air-conditioned Texas Discovery Biergarten and enjoy refreshing craft brews through Four Corners Brewery. Bolsa will serve interactive dishes featuring local ingredients. The Tamale Company will serve gluten free snacks, as well as vegan options. 

Tour the native, organic gardens outside or the tropical butterfly house inside. Snake exhibit also on display.

Admission: $2-4. State Fair admission and parking applies.

Tarrant County Master Gardeners: Open Days Garden Tour - Fort Worth

Six private gardens in Fort Worth will be open to the public to benefit the Garden Conservancy and the Tarrant County Master Gardeners Association. $5/per garden or $25/day pass.

Keep Grapevine Beautiful: Garden Planting Day - Grapevine

All tools, water and snacks will be provided. Volunteers needed to plant mostly flowers, some shrubs, in the two Torian Cabin gardens first, then travel across the street and do the same for the beds that are behind the Senior Center on Church Street. The Church Street gardens will be mostly comprised of shrubs, grasses and ground covers. RSVP: mjtellin@grapevinetexas.gov

BRIT: "Ginkgo: The Tree That Time Forgot" - Fort Worth

Lecture and book signing. Inspired by the historic ginkgo that has thrived in London’s Kew Gardens since the 1760s, Professor Peter Crane explores the history of the ginkgo from its mysterious origin through its proliferation, drastic decline and ultimate resurgence.

Professor Sir Peter Crane is a Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. Dean and professor of botany at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
