This annual sale includes more than 100 hard to find beautiful native Texas plant species, which are drought-tolerant, disease-resistant, low maintenance and well suited for the soil and extreme temperature conditions found in Denton County.
City named Bluebird Capital of Texas celebrates the iconic bird with arts and crafts, pageant, carnival and bluebird tours in Van Zandt county, east of Dallas.
The city hosts the family friendly celebration at the Government Center. Includes a self-guided video tour of sustainable exhibits that event-goers can access via QR codes, tree planting, recyclable crafts, green booths, face painting and entertainment.
During the month of April, the bluebonnets are on display in Ennis and the city provides a map, showcasing the best viewing spots along 40 miles of driving trails.
In addition, the city puts on a weekend festival with arts and crafts, children’s activities, entertainment and bluebonnet souvenirs.
The Dallas community garden hosts this event featuring music, food and eco-friendly activities at the Imagine Garden. A fun run precedes the fest at 11 a.m. Festival is free. Registration fee for run is $10/adults and $6/kids.
Arlington nature center presents nature walks, story times and crafts. Free.
Event goers can enjoy hands-on environmental demonstrations, education booths, kid’s crafts and entertainment, two bands, organic plant sale, Tesla electric car show, bungee trampoline, food trucks, Professor Brainius and kite flying at Coppell Town Center. Free.
