Fort Worth Nature Center: Making Sense of Winter - Fort Worth

Winter is the perfect time of year to use your senses of sight, smell and hearing to experience nature at its fullest. Although many plants are dormant and animals may be hibernating, there are still signs of activity from the animal kingdom. We will take a hike and use our observation skills to spot wildlife that may be active this time of year. Bring a notepad, pencil and camera if you have one. Good walking shoes and water are recommended. Free (with paid admission).

Fort Worth Nature Center: New Year's Resolution Hike - Fort Worth

Start your year off right with an invigorating 2.5 mile hike guided by a staff naturalist on the most scenic segment of the beautiful Canyon Ridge Trail. Our route will be moderately challenging with several changes in elevation. Bring water and dress for the weather. We’ll meet at the Hardwicke Interpretive Center and carpool/caravan to the trailhead. Free (with paid admission).

Ray Roberts Lake State Park: Campfire Caroling - Pilot Point

Get into the holiday spirit by joining us fire-side to sing beloved Christmas carols. Meet at the Deer Ridge amphitheater next to site 48 to sing under the stars and enjoy some treats made during our Dutch oven cooking demonstration. Remember to dress for the weather and bring a few blankets to snuggle up in.
