U.S. Dept of Transportion PHMSA: Pipeline Safety Public Awareness Workshop - Richardson

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Transportaion, will conduct a two-day workshop to bring together pipeline safety public awareness stakeholders to discuss findings from recent federal and state public awareness inspections and gain perspectives from various stakeholders on public awareness challenges and successes to identify ways to strengthen pipeline safety public awareness.

The workshop will also be webcast.

EPA: Landfill Methane Capture Workshop - Garland

U.S. EPA’s Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP) has partnered with TxSWANA to host a oneday workshop on landfill gas (LFG) utilization in Texas. LMOP has identified Texas as a state with numerous LFG energy project opportunities. This workshop will cover a variety of topics, including:

  • LFG collection and utilization technologies;

  • Project financial considerations and incentives;

  • Regulations impacting LFG capture and use;

  • LMOP technical assistance and tools available.

    In addition, the workshop will also feature case studies of successful LFG energy projects that have been implemented in Texas.

TP&W Foundation Young Professionals: Kickoff Dinner - Dallas

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation, a group that provides private support to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of the state for present and future generations, is launching a Young Professionals group in Dallas for those 40 years and younger. The group is hosting a kickoff dinner to introduce the organization to those who have an interest and passion for conservation efforts. 

Benefits of membership include invitations to special events and service opportunities, an annual subscription to Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine and multiple outreach activities.
