Texas Campaign for the Environment: Recycling Wish List Fundraiser - Dallas

Susybelle Gosslee, Advocacy Chair for the Dallas League of Women Voters, will be hosting a party at her home in North Dallas. Special appearance by Dallas' longest-serving City Council Member, Sandy Greyson, and a "Recycling Wish List" that guests will create to send in a letter to the North Pole. Come eat, drink and be merry! $25 minimum. Tickets include food from Celebration Restaurant and drinks from Salt Lick Cellars, Peticolas Brewery and Tito's Vodka. All proceeds will benefit Texas Campaign for the Environment! 

Texas Campaign for the Environment: Thanks for Giving Fundraiser - Dallas

Mariana and Scott Griggs—named Best City Council Member by the Dallas Observer—will be hosting a fundraising party at their home in North Oak Cliff. Tickets include food from Celebration Restaurant and drinks from Lakewood Brewing Company, Salt Lick Cellars  and Tito's Vodka. All proceeds benefit Texas Campaign for the Environment. $25 minimum. Texas Trees Foundation: JFK Grove Tree Planting - 7 Cities

Volunteers needed to plant seven tree groves in seven cities in memory of President John F. Kennedy. In an effort to offset the 301 million trees lost in 2011-2012 due to the drought, 2,000 trees are being planted as part of the Tree North Texas initiative. EPA Public Listening Session: Reducing Carbon at Existing Plants

EPA will hold 11 public listening sessions across the country to solicit ideas and input from the public and stakeholders about the best Clean Air Act approaches to reducing carbon pollution from existing power plants. 

The feedback from these 11 public listening sessions will play an important role in helping EPA develop smart, cost-effective guidelines that reflect the latest and best information available. 

Registration is highly encouraged due to large expected turn outs. Register.

Palo Pinto Mountains State Park: Sneak Preview & Star Gazing Party - Strawn

Palo Pinto Mountains State Park will be hosting this free public event. Event go-ers will get a sneak preview of the new 3,331-acre park, which is under development with its opening date at least two years away.

Members of both the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas and the Fort Worth Astronomical Society will be on hand with telescopes that attendees can use. Bring chairs, water, bug spray and your own telescope if you would like. Brisket sandwiches will be available and donations are welcome.

River Legacy: Texas Bumblebee Watch - Arlington

Presenter: Michael Warriner, invertebrate biologist for Texas Parks and Wildlife. Most press coverage on the bee decline is directed towards the European honeybee. Bumblebees have gone virtually unstudied despite their critical roles in agriculture and natural ecosystems. At this presentation, learn how to identify and record Texas Bumblebees to assess how their populations are faring. For ages 12 and up. Free.

Texas A&M AgriLife: Texas Water Star Conference - Fort Worth

How to conserve water in the urban environment is the focus of conference. While aimed at the irrigation specialist, talks include landscape design and management and plant selection for water conservation, which are of interest to the home gardener. The conference qualifies for CEU credits. Environmental Quality.
