Denton Vegetarian Society: Tower Garden Demo - Denton

Come to this Tower Garden Demo and learn how you can grow your own food (non-gmo, organic if you choose) in 1/3 of the time on your front porch. The tower garden is a vertical aeroponic system, that takes no dirt, 90 percent less water, 90 percent less space and little knowledge of gardening.Featuring Marcy Malkey, director & Eeducator for Community and Neighborhood Gardens, Tower Garden Farming and Eco Friendly Instructor for the city of Irving.

Fort Worth Audubon Society: Whooping Cranes - Fort Worth

"Whooping Cranes" presented by Joan Garland of the Crane Foundation. Learn about whooping cranes and the efforts in place by the Crane Foundation to ensure the cranes and the habitats along their migration routes are protected. Garland, outreach coordinator for the Crane Foundation, has accompanied the cranes on their migration from Wisconsin to Florida. She will share her experiences and the ongoing efforts of the Crane Foundation. Bird ID session @ 6:50 pm, social time @ 7:15 pm. Free.

Women in the Environment: Scrap Denton Tour & More - Denton

11 a.m.: Tour begins at Scrap Denton for registration, networking and browsing the facility.
11:30 a.m.: Lunch at Banter Bistro of Denton (219 W. Oak St, Denton) sponsored by CDM Smith, along with two presentations. Order at the bar and identify yourself with the WE event.

Friends of O.S. Gray Natural Area: Annual Molly Hollar Birthday Bash & Privet Pull - Arlington

The only thing Molly likes more that chocolate cake is to see a gigantic pile of privet, so let's give her her wish. You may come and go, work or goof off; you decide. Lunch and cake at Mijo's at 12:30 pm.
