Texas Interfaith Power & Light: Water Captains - Fort Worth

Join Rev. Sam Brannon from the Texas Interfaith Center for Public Policy, and members of Fort Worth Interfaith Power & Light, in a hands-on planning workshop for the Water Captains program. Water Captains are local members of the faith community who partner with state and local leaders to make sure the Texas water planning process works for everyone. We welcome your participation. North Texas Renewable Energy Group: "Electric Grid Battery Backup: Who gets to lead the next revolution in energy?" - Dallas 

Presenter: ONCOR

ONCOR, the state's largest regulated utility, just stepped forward with an audacious plan to invest $5.2B to install 5,000 MW of batteries on the Texas Grid. This emerging technology will help improve reliability, boost renewable and maybe lower monthly electric bills. If this project goes through it will be the largest project of its kind in the world.

Cornell Lab of Ornithology & National Audubon Society: Great Backyard Bird Count - Global

Anyone in the world can count birds at any location for at least 15 minutes on one or more days of the count and enter their sightings at www.BirdCount.org. The information gathered by tens of thousands of volunteers helps track changes in bird populations on a massive scale. The GBBC is a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society with partner Bird Studies Canada.

Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area: Brush Bash - Fort Worth

One day a year, Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area with help from the City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Dept. hosts a Brush Bash to clear sections of the prairie of invasive and unwanted trees, brush and trash. 

The brush has been cut and will be ready for volunteers to drag to waiting trucks for delivery to a composting facility. Your help really makes a difference! Manly Men and Wild Women welcome.
