Award ceremony for Arlington Conservation Council's photo contest. Photographs from the Focus Contest are now on exhibit at River Legacy Living Science Center in the Riparian Viewing Room, located in the far back of the Center's exhibit hall until Jan. 1, 2014.
Attendees are invited to join the ACC's meeting and potluck following the ceremony.

Moved by stories of extinct North American birds, sculptor Todd McGrain set out to create memorials. The Lost Bird Project follows McGrain and his brother-in-law as they search for the locations where the birds were last seen and negotiate permission to install McGrain’s large bronze sculptures there. Free.
If you have never done a Count before, the best description is an all-day census of birds within a predefined 15-mile diameter circle. The Dallas Count Circle is centered near the intersection of Inwood Road and Cedar Springs. Carla Diana will share stories of designing everything from washing machines to humanoid robots, offering a glimpse into a future filled with digitally-enhanced technologies. She currently leads the Smart Interaction Lab, an initiative focused on design explorations in the form of tinkering and hands-on experimentation around topics such as expressive objects, digital making and sustainability through behavior change. $10-12.
