Dallas County Community College District hosts this environmentally-themed event at North Lake College, featuring break-out sessions and a green expo. Permaculture expert Toby Hemenway provides this year's keynote address. Lunch provided. Screening of the documentary Arise at 1pm. Free.
Dallas County Community College District is currently seeking innovative presentations and poster sessions for the 2014 Sustainability Summit, April 16, at North Lake College. The presentations will encourage sharing and rich discussions for an audience that includes faculty, staff, students, local business and industry and the general community. Topics of interest may include (but are not limited to) permaculture, green curriculum, LEED vs . Green Globes and environmental justice.

JBS partners with the Perot Museum of Science and Natural History for this family event. With little to no light pollution, the wetlands are a great place to see the winter night sky. Recycling of electronic/electric items (anything that runs on batteries or has a cord) will now be taking place quarterly at First Jefferson. Arbor Day event, Earth Day celebration and a home and garden show featuring more than 70 booths with tree and plant sales, gardening products, landscaping services and home improvement items.
There will also be resources and information for individuals looking to improve their home and community, with an emphasis on sustainable or "green" practices and local, Denton-based businesses.
Also there will be children’s environmental exhibits and activities, a live TRASHion Runway show, live music, educational workshops and festival foods. Free.
