Friends of Fort Worth Prairie Park: Planning Meeting to Save Park - Fort Worth

There may still be a chance to save the Fort Worth Prairie Park despite the recent sale of the property to developers. All are invited to brainstorm and plan our next steps. David Bezanson with the Nature Conservancy will be in town and we will discuss what we found out at the meeting with the city. David believes we really have a chance to make this happen, but we need you!

If you can't come and want to know more about what you can do, please let me know.

Heard Museum: 'A Feathered River Across the Sky' - McKinney

Author Joel Greenberg will bring the story of the passenger pigeon to life and speak about his new book, A Feathered River Across the Sky: The Passenger Pigeon’s Flight to Extinction. Greenberg has been a birder/naturalist for 45 years, and has shared his love and knowledge of nature and conservation by authoring three books, writing numerous articles, co-hosting a radio show, blogging on Birdzilla.com and lecturing widely. He has also written the first book on the species in more than 50 years. Joel uses his passion and humor in telling the poignant story of this species, which also includes the interesting human characters that populate the bird’s history. But this is not just about the past: What happened to the passenger pigeon is relevant to us and those who come after.
