White Rock Local Market is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit farmers market where local farmers, ranchers, and artisans sell directly to our East Dallas neighborhood. White Rock Local Market is a meeting place for residents to buy fresh, local and healthy foods, and quality arts and crafts.

WRLM is held twice a month – the second and fourth Saturday – at The Green Spot Market and Fuels. Second Saturdays are Everything Markets and feature farmers, food artisans and arts and crafts. Fourth Saturdays are Just Farmers - farmers, producers, and food artisans.

The Business Case for Water Conservation - Waco

Water Conservation Symposium Set for Thursday in Waco

 The Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club and a number of other organizations are sponsoring a Brazos Valley Water Conservation Symposium in Waco this Thursday, June 21 to highlight the ways in which the region may meet its water needs through enhanced water conservation. The symposium, subtitled “The Business Case for Water Conservation,” is aimed at water utility professionals and local decision-makers but the general public is welcome to attend. Co-sponsors of the symposium include the national Alliance for Water Efficiency, the Brazos River Authority, the City of Waco, the National Wildlife Federation, and the Texas Water Foundation.

Debbie has some fascinating information on what the current programs, participation and strategies are.

Debbie hails from Kansas City, Missouri. She received a B.S. in Environmental Science from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and an M.S. in Biology from Baylor University. She spent four years working for the City of Waco as their Recycling Coordinator before moving to Fort Worth. Debbie has been with the City of Fort Worth as the Commercial Recycling and Keep Fort Worth Beautiful Coordinator since late 2007 and enjoys the opportunity to help residents and businesses improve our shared environment. Debbie is married and has two boys in elementary school and enjoys reading, hiking and recreational sports in her spare time.
