Anti-fracking documentary wins top prize at EarthxFilm 

The EarthxFilm festival awarded its top prize to *Unfractured*, a documentary directed by Chanda Chevannes about biologist-turned-activist Sandra Steingraber. Highlighting the human cost of activism, the film supports grassroots anti-fracking efforts, notably in Texas, with Chevannes dedicating the award to Liveable Arlington.

North Texans gearing up for City Nature Challenge

North Texans are preparing for the City Nature Challenge, held April 27-30, to defend their title. Hosted by iNaturalist, the global event involves over 70 cities. DFW enthusiasts, led by Sam Kieschnick, aim to record the highest number of local plant and animal observations.

Film depicts 'albatross' of plastic consumption

Seattle-based photographer Chris Jordan spent eight years creating the film "Albatross," documenting the impact of plastic consumption on albatrosses on Midway Island. It creatively explores humanity's crossroads without dictating solutions, offering the film for free on Earth Day and World Oceans Day.

‘The Human Element’ that can solve climate change opens EarthxFilm 

'The Human Element,' a film by James Balog, opened EarthxFilm, showcasing captivating scenes of climate impact through the elements, with a focus on humanity’s role. Screened alongside 'Ditch the Van,' both films aired at EarthxFilm, part of the significant EarthX environmental expo in Dallas.

Now in its 8th year, the three-day environmental expo also features five days of conferences and a 10-day film festival.

EarthX changed its name last year from Earth Day Texas to reflect its ambitions to grow. This year, event-goers will experience that growth as the three-day festival now is held in conjunction with a five-day group of conferences and 10-day film festival.

Oak Cliff Earth Day roars back with Run for Environment

Oak Cliff Earth Day returned at Lake Cliff Park in Dallas, featuring the "Run for the Environment." Organized by Green Source DFW and Memnosyne Institute, the event included a Native American opening prayer, green development talks, musical performances, and over 130 green vendors, celebrating community and sustainability.
