IKEA to install solar panels atop new Grand Prairie store

IKEA plans to install a 1.25 MW solar array atop its new Grand Prairie store in Texas by summer. The system will include 2,800 SunPower panels, generating roughly 2,000,000 kWh annually. This marks IKEA's 48th U.S. solar project, reinforcing its sustainability efforts and investment in renewable energy.

A proposed disposal well near Lake Arlington is getting pushback from local municipalities and environmental groups in Tarrant County. As a result, State Representative Nicole Collier, who represents district 95, is hosting a forum to address the topic on Thursday, April 20, at 6 p.m. at the Handley Meadowbrook Community Center in Fort Worth.

Every day thousands of travelers from around the globe pass through the halls of the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport with its five terminals, nearly 2,000 flights a day and a 24/7 open status.

In fact, the 17,000 acres of land that the airport sits on is larger than this island of Manhattan. So with a size of that magnitude, it is significant to consider DFW Airport’s efforts to focus on environmental issues.
