Supreme Court to consider West Texas nuke dump fight

Over a decade ago, environmentalists warned about a nuclear waste facility in West Texas. Now, the U.S. Supreme Court will review a case regarding the site's high-level radioactive waste storage plan. Despite state opposition and legal battles, Interim Storage Partners aims to store 40,000 metric tons there.

Texas nuclear waste dump clears another hurdle

Waste Control Specialists' plan to store high-level radioactive waste in Texas progresses amid public opposition and safety concerns. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's draft study supports the proposal, which faces criticism for potential transportation risks and site's unsuitability for permanent storage. Public comments are open until November 3rd.
