Texas Association of Resource Conservation and Development Areas: Training Conference - Cleburne (Thru Feb. 23)

Resource Conservation and Development areas (RC&Ds) are local groups located throughout the United States. These grass root groups assist individuals, landowners, other organizations and businesses to preserve and improve our natural resources while maintaining healthy growing rural communities and economies. Here in Texas our local groups obtain statewide assistance with our missions through our membership in the Texas Association of Resource Conservation and Development Areas (TARCDA). TARCDA serves as the statewide organizer when working with federal and state programs and agencies, including Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas AgriLife, Texas Forestry Service and Texas Department of Agriculture.

Learn more about ongoing conservation and economic development efforts in Texas. The conference will include updates from the TARCDA about the statewide Supplemental Environmental Program (SEP) funding, and new work with Texas Department of Agriculture. Presentations will include information on:
• energy conservation
• ground water issues
• surface water protection
• pollinator preservation
• native and adaptive plants
• preserving soils with cover crops
Meet others working toward similar goals during breaks and social activities.
