All-Day Organic Gardening Workshop - Ft Worth

Come to an organic gardening workshop based on Permaculture principles and practices held in Fort Worth to kick-off a non-profit group: Citizen's Gardener. $30 fee. You will leave the class ready to start your fall garden in very little space at home or ready to start a community garden for your church or other group. We have long-time Permaculture instructor and Austin Citizen's Gardener teacher Dick Pierce teaching 1st class on Aug 13.

This all-day workshop also starts a community garden for a Fort Worth school for underprivileged kids, Fortress Youth DC. Dress appropriately, bring water, snacks, and a brown-bag lunch.

The program works this way. You pay for one class. The Citizen's Gardener charge of $30 must be paid in advance. After your original class, you will be expected to volunteer another 10 hours--either at the next class or for a non-profit group, but you do not pay again. This helps review what you have learned in class and, of course, helps get local, sustainable food growing here. If you take the Fort Worth class, then assist at the next one (Sep 10 in Dallas), then you will be eligible to take the teaching class on Sep 11 and give these classes yourself. This will help grow food sustainability in all of North Central Texas as well as your own yard/school/church/community.
