The Catholic Artisans Guild brings together two local economy pioneers for the first annual Hands and Heart Symposium.  The talks will explore the guiding principles of Permaculture as a design system that works with Natural Law to create human settlements and Distributionsm, as a third way economic theory that has been successfully realized. John Medaille will speak on the Renewal of Economy: Distributivism, Local Economy and the Principle of Subsidiarity.  Retired from a long career in business, he is now an Instructor in Theology at the University of Dallas and a columnist at The Remnant Newspaper. Robert Waldrop's talk will be on solution-oriented approach to sustainable city living.  Mr. Waldrop is a Permaculture Designer and the founder of the Oscar Romero Catholic Worker House.  He is one of the founders of the Oklahoma Food Cooperative and he served as the organization’s first president and general manager.  He works as director of music at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church and his most recent project is the Oklahoma Worker Cooperative Network, an organization incubating new businesses owned by their workers.
