US Green Bldg Council's Energy Summit - Houston

The U.S. Green Building Council-Texas Gulf Coast Chapter is partnering with an array of non-profit leaders to produce high quality energy-efficiency education to the commercial industry. The Houston Chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and Houston Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) are among those that are inspired to bring a premiere educational summit to Houston, one that will promote discussion and knowledge about energy and green issues along the Texas Gulf Coast.
On August 23, 2011 the USGBC Energy Summit will be honored to host the following distinguished speakers and panels at The Houstonian Hotel in Houston:

The Breakfast Keynote Speaker will be Lisa Zembrodt of Summit Energy. She will discuss the Dynamics and Fundamentals of the Texas Energy Markets, Production, Capacities and Consumption. An expert in the energy market, Zembrodt provides pertinent information, helping decision-makers understand the current and future state of energy supply and demand.

The morning sessions will include tracks covering an array of topics including a panel discussion on the degree to which Demand
Still Matters in the price for energy and efficiency. Another dialogue will be about energy rating systems.

The Lunch Keynote Speaker Jeff Taebel, the Houston Galveston Area Council’s Director of Community and Environmental Planning, will present an intriguing view of Livable Centers and his inspirational and comprehensive approach about the future of buildings.

Afternoon sessions’ tracks include energy conservation ideas, winning the competition for capital dollars, and the evolution and future of building envelope technologies.The USGBC Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Energy Summit educates the building industry about energy trends, efficiency, and incentives along the Gulf Coast.

Participants provide a forum to share expertise about energy topics with consumers. Meet other building managers, facility engineers, operators, building owners, and building support such as engineers, architects, and vendors.
