Summer Camps at Dallas Arboretum

What could be more fun than summer camp at the Dallas Arboretum? Our all-time favorite Creature Feature returns with all new animals and activities. Explore the world of Fairy Tales and visit our enchanting castle exhibit. Become inspired by nature in Earth, Wind, Inspire, go wild about bugs in Bug Club and discover Texas in Lone Star Adventure Camp. These camps and more are available for children ages four to twelve. Don’t miss the coolest camps in Dallas!

All camps are Monday – Friday
Half day camps: 9 am – 12 pm or 1pm- 4pm Members $108; Nonmember $120.
Survivor Camp: 9 am – 3:30 pm. Members $171; Nonmembers $190 * Bring a sack lunch daily
Lone Star Adventure Camp: 9 am – 3:30 pm. $250. DABS or TRAC members $225 * Bring a sack lunch daily
Little Critters: Tue – Thurs, 9am – 12pm. Members $90; Nonmembers $99

This exciting 3 – day camp has been created just for our very youngest campers. Based on our popular Creature Feature camp each day is filled with stories, walks and crafts. Meet a different garden critter every day, play games and make your own snack.

Creature Feature
Go wild about animals this summer! This all time favorite returns with new animals and activities. You will create a bughouse, go on a butterfly safari and build a giant spider web. Each day you will meet a new garden critter and go on walks, listen to stories, and enjoy snacks and crafts.

Happily Ever After
Discover the connection between nature and your favorite fairy tales in this exciting camp. Plant some “magic” beans, just like Jack, investigate the world beneath the waves with the Little Mermaid. Each day is filled with hands-on explorations, nature adventures, crafts and fun and features visits to our Fairy tale Castle exhibit.

Peter Rabbit’s Garden
Join Peter Rabbit and his friends on the best garden adventure ever! Explore the gardens at the Arboretum, plant your own vegetable garden, dig in the dirt, decorate your own gardening apron and visit Peter Rabbit’s Flower Village to learn more about Peter Rabbit and his friends.

Bug Club
Crazy about bugs? Discover the good, the bad and the ugly in your own back yard. Investigate the metamorphosis of butterflies and the tricks insects play as you explore the fascinating world of creepy crawlies. Go on a bug hunt, create your own “pet” bug and more in this exciting camp all about bugs!

Half Day Camps

Garden Art
Explore the world that lies under your feet! Discover the critters both large and small that live in your backyard. Investigate birds and their habitats and make a birdfeeder, learn the difference between frogs and toads and make a toad oasis to take home. Each day features exciting projects and adventures throughout the beautiful Arboretum.

Earth, Wind, Inspire
Discover planet Earth in this exciting camp. Investigate solar and wind energy and discover the wonder of rocks and soil. Explore the fascinating worlds of plants and animals. Enjoy outdoor adventures as you unravel the mysteries of earth, wind and become inspired!

Survivor; Arboretum!
Like challenges? This is the camp you have been waiting for! How will you survive this Arboretum adventure? Teams will face exciting nature challenges that include building a solar oven, constructing a shelter, and racing other teams to navigate the outdoors with a map and compass.

Full Day Camps

Lone Star Adventure Camp
Go wild in the Lone Star State! Step back in time and explore the life and times of the pioneers who first settled in Texas. Investigate the amazing plants that call Texas home, and discover the fascinating wild world of Texas animals. Spend Monday through Wednesday at the Dallas Arboretum, then spend an adventure-packed Thursday through Friday (including a staff-supervised overnight) at Trinity River Audubon Center, hiking, paddling, fishing, and exploring our amazing North Texas home.
