The third annual “Polo for the Planet” will take
place on June 4, 2010 at the Prestonwood Polo & Country
Club<http://www.oakpointpolo.com/> in Oak Point, Texas. 

Produced by the Ladies Polo Auxiliary of Texas, this
event promises families an evening of eco-friendly fun while enjoying the
sport of kings.

The evening will feature a “Taste of Green” Pavilion where attendees can
enjoy samplings of local, organic and/or sustainable foods and products.
Participating sponsors include Green Mountain Energy, My Fit Foods, In a
Pickle, Spain’s barbecue, The All Natural Healthy Cookie Company, Oak Cliff
Organics, Gaia for Women, Shaklee Representative BJ Ellis and others.  VeeV
Acai Spirit <http://www.veevlife.com/main.php>, a carbon-neutral company
whose sales benefit the Brazilian Rainforest, will provide eco-friendly
cocktails during the divot stomp.

According to Dena Miller, founder of the Ladies Polo Auxiliary, “Polo for
the Planet is in its third year and has already become one of the
Auxiliary’s most popular events.  My husband Vaughn and I enjoy using this
platform for worthy causes. As parents, environmental education for our
community rates high among our priorities.”   This year’s co-chairs include
Debora Annino, sustainable apparel designer and founder of Common

and Anna M. Clark, author of *Green, American
Style*<http://www.amazon.com/Green-American-Style-Becoming-Earth-Friendly/dp/0801013348>
and president of EarthPeople.

Gates open at 5:00 PM and the polo match begins at 6:00 PM.  The first 100
people will receive gift bags at the door. The entrance fee is $10.00 per
person; *children 12 and under are free*..  VIP tickets are $30.00 and
include a barbecue picnic from Spain's barbeque, bottomless VeeV specialty
cocktails, and an exclusive gift bag. Guests may choose to sit in a
grandstand-boxed seat or the party pavilion with elevated viewing. Any
family may bring a picnic dinner and tailgate. Leashed dogs are welcome.
