Water Demonstration Training - Dallas

The Urban Water Program at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas has several water conservation and water quality demonstrations and programs for use at schools, organizations or any educational event.  Demonstrations include the Stream Trailer, EnviroScapes, Rainfall Simulator, Irrigation Equipment, Dual Flush Toilet and a Rainwater Harvesting system. Programs include the Incredible Water Journey and Freddy the Fish. Demonstrations and Programs are available by reservation at no cost.  Participants will also get the chance to visit the Center's resources efficient landscape, rainwater harvesting systems and rain garden.

We will start around 9:30am and finish by 2pm each day.

Students will rotate through 4 stations which are 30 minutes each.  Since we have so
many kids, we are trying to put together enough volunteers to offer 2 sets of stations / rotations:

* Quail CSI / Scent Station
* Native Plant ID / Nature Walk
* Radio Telemetry

LEED Green Associate (GA) Certification Exam Prep - Arlington

Our two-day intensive course fulfills the educational requirements for the LEED GA exam, as well as covering everything you would need to know to pass the GA exam. Certified Carbon & GHG Reduction Manager Program for Professional Certification - Arlington

The Association of Energy Engineers Certified Carbon & GHG Reduction Manager (CRM™) program is designed to provide recognition for professionals who have distinguished themselves as leaders in the growing field of carbon reduction. The designation CRM identifies individuals who have demonstrated high levels of technical expertise in energy management and environmental practices. This course has been approved by AIA for continuing education credits through AEE and qualifies for GBCI's (CMP) for LEED ® professionals. Urban Stream Processes and Natural Channel Design - Arlington

Texas AgriLife Extension is pleased to announce a 2 day Short course on Urban Stream Processes and Natural Restoration (see attached flyer). Management of urban streams can range from site specific erosion control, protecting the stream corridor, preventing debris jams to large scale restoration projects. The workshop will address stream morphology assessment, natural channel design principles, and construction practices for stream restoration, riparian vegetation management, and project evaluation. This workshop involves in-class and hands-on field work with opportunities to discuss case studies of interest to the participants. Project WILD Aquatic Workshop for Educators - Dallas

Trinity River Audubon Center offers workshops designed to give educators the knowledge and skills necessary to implement environmental education with their students and to make the most of their educational field experiences at Trinity River Audubon Center.

All workshops are hands-on, field-based, and TEKS-linked and are designed to strengthen critical thinking skills across disciplines, improve science literacy, and reinforce science concepts taught in the classroom.

The first part of the meeting will be spent socializing with the people in your industry. There has been a great response from people spending time with others that are in their given fields.

After that you will draw a business card from the hat. You will then have a 5 minute 1-1 with that person and you will be giving their 30 second commercial! This was a HUGE success last time. Lots of FUN!
