Regular gathering with representatives from local environmental groups. Topics to be discussed at  meeting:

• Keystone pipeline - report on the the DC "Reject and Protect" event, updates on Julia Trigg Crawford and more

• Boy Scout Hill at White Rock - what's new with this develop putting a restaurant at the park?

• Fracking, earthquakes and disposal wells - what was discussed at the hearing in Austin -- the SMU study and where it is today

RSVP if you are coming so organizer can gauge handouts. The public and all environmental groups are welcome to attend and talk about what they are working on.

Fort Worth Nature Center: Herp Walk - Fort Worth

Join Crosstimbers Connection for a walk to discover the reptiles and amphibians of the Refuge. We will look for such species as green tree frogs, skinks, water snakes, and slider turtles and learn about how they live. We will try to get close enough for detailed observation and talk about how to look for them and photograph them. Best for ages 7 through adult. FREE (with paid admission)

Fort Worth Nature Center: Snakes of Tarrant County - Fort Worth

Learn what snakes live in Tarrant County. Join members of the Dallas-Fort Worth Herpetological Society as they answer your questions and allow you to view these snakes in a safe manner. It is a great opportunity to learn about one of the most misunderstood groups of animals living in our area. Hours: Sat. 10am-4pm, Sun & Mon 9:15am-3pm. Free with paid admission.

UU Church of Oak Cliff: Film Screening 'Blockadia Rising: Voices of the Tar Sands Blockade' - Dallas

Blockadia Rising: Voices of the Tar Sands Blockade is an hour-long documentary film written, edited and narrated by Garrett Graham, an active participant of the Tar Sands Blockade, a grassroots effort to stop the tar sands pipeline. Features exclusive video footage shot by the blockaders themselves during the course of more than six months of sustained resistance. 

The screening is free.

Women in the Environment: John Bunker Sands Wetlands Tour - Fort Worth

John Bunker Sands Wetland Center’s mission is to both educate the public and provide research opportunities in the areas of water quality and supply, wildlife management and wetland systems. 

WE will tour a section of property. Wear appropriate shoes and clothing. A light lunch will be hosted by Tricia Holderman at her home next door after the tour. Cost: Free/members, $5/nonmembers. For carpool information, call 214-340-0117.
