In addition to learning about snowflakes, each child will make their own snowflake to take home. Free with paid admission. Class at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Join FWNC director/plant ecologist Suzanne Tuttle for a 2.5-mile trail hike around the Refuge. Learn to identify deciduous trees and shrubs in winter by their growth habits, bark, twigs, buds and leaf scars. Bring water and dress for the weather. Pre-registration required. $15/nonmembers (includes admission fee), $8/members.
Hosted by the Greater Fort Worth Sierra Club. Outings leaders will share their knowledge about car camping, primitive camping and backpacking in an abbreviated class.
