Canoeing Family Trip - Garland

Discover local paddling locations while experiencing flatwater canoeing. Learn water safety and paddling skills while taking an exciting water adventure with seasoned canoe instructors. Designed to provide a wide range of opportunities for the novice to confident canoeist.

Sierra Club Meeting - Ft Worth

Adelaide Levens will speak on the Fort Worth organization 'Streams and Valleys' who work to protect our local Trinity River and hiking trails. The third Wednesday of each month we share conservation news, outings info and enjoy a presentation by a guest speaker. Speaker will be followed by refreshments, club business and announcements. "Into the Meadow" Celebration - Allen

Annual fundraiser to feature live music, local produce and dinner under the stars

 The Connemara Meadow Preserve will once again be filled
with food, fun and friends when the Connemara Conservancy Foundation hosts its
second annual Into The Meadow celebration on Oct. 1.

Tickets, which are $150 per person, are available at connemaraconservancy.org or
by calling (214) 351-0990. The event begins at 5 p.m. and benefits the Connemara
Conservancy, which currently protects more than 3,400 acres of land throughout North
Texas.

In just one year, Into The Meadow has become Connemara’s signature fundraising
event, celebrating locally produced food and the conservancy’s mission of preserving
and protecting open space throughout North Texas.

Once again the event will feature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Pecan Grove, live
music, a local vendor market place, an auction and the signature white tablecloth dinner
held under the stars in the Meadow Preserve and catered by Pecan Lodge Catering.

Canoe Fest - Ft Worth

Enjoy a bit of canoeing/kayaking on your own on the quiet waters around Greer Island. Canoes/kayaks, paddles and lifejackets provided. Children in canoes must be 5 years or older and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Kayakers must be at least 18 years old. Parents must sign a liability waiver for minor children. NO REGISTRATION NEEDED. FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED. Greer Island gate will open at 11
a.m.  Meet at Greer Island. $5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS $3.

Egrets & Herons - Ft Worth

If you are a bird that frequents the Lotus Marsh, you must be well equipped. It can get really mucky and difficult to navigate. If you are hunting fish, you must be quick and have the proper tools to catch them. Join us today as we discuss a group of birds that have what it takes to survive at the Lotus Marsh. We will discuss the natural history of egrets and herons. We will then take a quick trip down to the Boardwalk and
check out these highly adaptive birds. FREE (with paid admission).
