Groundwork Dallas, Dallas Downriver Club and Trinity Nature Conservancy, will lead a 5-mile trip down the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, picking up trash along the way, before landing at the Frasier Dam Recreation Area. A cookout and music will await paddlers leaving the water. 

This event, coordinated by the Dallas Downviver Club, is part of an effort by The Trinity Nature Conservancy and Groundwork Dallas to both improve the beauty of the Elm Fork, and encourage use of a newly improved paddling trail.

The day-long event features presentations about cacti and succulents accompanied by sale of unusual and rare plants and art pottery.

Shop for native and adapted plants from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The purpose of the Native Plant Society of Texas is to promote the conservation, research and utilization of native plants and plant habitats of Texas through education, outreach and example. As such, the Dallas chapter implemented a native garden grant program. A few of these grant recipients will be at the meeting to show their gardens, their purpose what they've accomplished and their future plans. Please join us in congratulating the hardworking efforts of these native plant advocates:  Tenison Park Pollinator Garden, Big Bear Native American Muse

The sale features a large variety of plant species grown at the Greenhouse by Wildscape volunteers, including: ground covers, perennials, shrubs, vines and trees. Many species of grasses are provided by Blue Stem Nursery. $2.50, $4, $7, $15 and up. Proceeds benefit the wildscape.
