Dinner in the Wild - Dallas

Dinner in the Wild 2011: Night at the Museum!

This year, in honor of the Museum of Nature & Science's expansion into Victory Park, proceeds from Dinner in the Wild will go to support the Expansion Project Capital Campaign. In celebration, the event will be called Night at the Museum and will preview features of the new Perot Museum of Nature & Science currently taking shape before our very eyes at the corner of Woodall Rodgers Freeway and Field Street – the building that The Dallas Morning News called "the boldest piece of modern architecture to hit Dallas."

Join us for An Unprecedented Giving Opportunity

Thanks to several generous challenge grants, any gifts given to the Expansion Campaign are even more powerful and may be matched dollar-for-dollar up to four times! So you support of Dinner in the Wild 2011: Night at the Museum will have even more impact on the campaign! Find out how.

Strawberry Tower Construction Workshop - Carrollton

This month DFW Aquaponics Meetup will be sponsoring a short hands-on workshop to teach the techniques necessary to build a "strawberry tower" from common PVC pipe and a few other components. I will have instructions available ($5) that will detail the steps to build the tower, or we will provide the instructions along with the materials to build your own 4' tower ($25) [ Please make a comment in your RSVP if you would like materials to build your own tower.]

These structures are a great place to grow Strawberries (obviously), but also for all types of herbs, greens, and even certain vining plants. I will specifically discuss how to integrate these growing vessels into aquaponics systems and how to calculate their bio-filtration effectiveness.
