Don't let the worms crawl in and the worms crawl out -- put them to work! We'll teach you to use specialized red worms to compost your food waste. These use their waste as a fertile soil amendment to benefit your plants. Learn to set up and maintain a worm bin, and to harvest and use the worm castings.

Tree-cycle - Ft Worth

The Nature Center is fortunate to be surrounded with many trees. In the spring and summer, we can take in the beauty of the dark greens. In the fall, we can enjoy the reds, oranges and yellows leaves. In winter, the silhouettes of branches is great for exposing birds. Join us as we discuss the importance of trees in the ecosystem throughout their life cycle. $5 (with paid admission)/ MEMBERS FREE. Make A Bird Feeder - Ft Worth

Winter can be a little more difficult for birds to find food. Let us help them out a little bit and make some bird
feeders. When you stop by the Visitors’ Center, join us in making a feeder to take home. Supplement a bird’s diet and attract more birds to your backyard.  FREE (with paid admission).

The Way Things Were - Ft Worth

The Nature Center is a very large place and takes lots of dedication and hard work to maintain it. In addition to the space, we are affected by invasive and non-native plants outcompeting our native plants. Learn about the various invasive and non-native plants that have adversely affected the native flora and fauna and how we are trying to restore the ecological balance. $5 (with paid admission).

Fall Festival at Organic Farm - Celeste

Come out and visit a Certified Organic Local Family Farm! See a real farm in operation and enjoy all kinds of fall festivities. Good Earth Organic Farm is having a Fall Festival on October 22nd from 10 am to 4 pm.
