The city of Arlington Master Composter volunteers hold composting classes the second Saturday of every month at the composting display in the Science Center's parking lot area. This program is a collaborative effort between the Texas AgriLife Extension, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge.
The mission of this program is to develop and certify a group of well-informed adult volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated toward the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within our ecosystem community.
A maximum of 25 applicants will be selected to attend the program. Upon selection, training classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. each Tuesday, starting Aug. 27, at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge.

Aquaponics is a method of growing edible plants and fish in a single system that is extremely well suited for the urban environment. Additionally, aside from being totally organic and natural, it is very water efficient (using less than 10 percent of the water necessary for a comparable soil garden.) Free.
