In this independent documentary film, journalist/filmmaker Angela Sun travels on a personal journey of discovery to uncover this mysterious phenomenon. Along the way she meets scientists, researchers, influencers, and volunteers whom shed light on the effects of our rabid plastic consumption and learns the problem is more insidious than we could have ever imagined.

Radio Free Rescue: 'Blackfish' filmmaker Gabriela Cowperthwaite - Online Broadcast

Irving-based Radio Free Rescue will feature Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the filmmaker behind the documentary ‘Blackfish,’ on its online broadcast this week. 

The film, which exposes the cruelty behind marine entertainment parks, opens Friday at the Angelika in Dallas.

The Angelika in Dallas is showing the documentary Blackfish, which tells the story of the performing whale Tilikum, who unlike any orca in the wild, has taken the lives of several people while in captivity. The film documents the cruel treatment of these highly intelligent creatures in captivity and the growing opposition to the sea-park industry. Showtimes.
