Join the Noble Planetarium staff and the Fort Worth Astronomical Society for monthly Star Parties held in front of the museum on Gendy Street. Plenty of telescopes and astronomy buffs will be on hand. The party begins at dusk, weather permitting, and lasts until around 10:30 p.m. Free. Parking is available in the lot south of Harley Street.

Please note, parking surrounding the Museum is paid parking managed by the city of Fort Worth.

This is a wonderful suburban Star Party at a very nice observing site in Spring Park, Jonandrea Lane, Garland, Texas (between Jupiter Road and Clear Springs Drive. This party is held on the first Saturday of each month, weather permitting.

This free event begins at dark. Bring the whole family. Star parties begin at sunset, weather permitting.

 To reach the site, turn East on Springpark Way off of Jupiter. You will pass Spring Park on the right, where you can see the tennis courts. Continue on Springpark Way to the *second* right hand turn on Jonandrea Ln. (It makes a loop). Turn right and travel about 400 feet to the clearing on the right. Park on Jonandrea Ln.

This program will present new opportunities, like hearing beavers slap the water with their tails and seeing deer and raccoons. Canoes, paddles and lifejackets are provided. Children must be 5 years or older. Parents must sign a liability waiver for minor children. Some previous experience recommended. Registration ends Tuesday preceding or when filled. Maximum12 participants. Meet at Back Gate. Pre-registration required. $20, includes admission fee.

Explore nature before nightfall. Evening provides a unique opportunity to view animals that make the Nature Center their home. Bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing. Pre-registration required. Meet at Front Gate. $10, includes admission fee.

Learn about the night sky on a real Texas prairie. Ages 5 and up. $5 program plus $5 entrance. RSVP required: Erin Taylor, 972-219-3930, Erin.Taylor@UNT.edu.

Join our trail guides as they lead a moonlit stroll through the woods and across the prairie. We may hear some bumps in the night, but have no fear, t’s probably just an armadillo. Goji Cafe is a vegan Asian cafe with a delicious all-you-can-eat Sunday buffet. The film is Soul Food Junkies. The film explores food traditions that are hard to change, especially when they're passed on from generation to generation. Baffled by his dad's unwillingness to change his traditional soul food diet in the face of a health crisis, filmmaker Byron Hurt sets out to learn more about this rich culinary tradition and its relevance to black cultural identity.
