Dallas Sierra Club: Hummingbirds & Columbine-Hondo Wilderness Area - Farmers Branch

Mark Klym will talk about hummingbirds and what is being done to support and maintain our native Texas treasures. Bill Greer will present a short program about a Dallas Sierra Club backpack outing in the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness Area. Free.

Greater Fort Worth Sierra Club: Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area - Fort Worth

Richard Freiheit of Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area will introduce us to the programs, volunteer opportunities and environmental work at this wonderful outdoor learning center less than 1 hour from Fort Worth. The property is owned by the US Corp of Engineers but managed jointly by the Lewisville ISD, city of Lewisville and UNT. There are campsites, canoeing, hiking and kayaking opportunities for everyone there.

River Legacy: Artini Hour - Arlington

Bring your holiday cards to create beautiful flower mosaic masterpieces on canvas during this new adult program. Instruction, supplies and a tasty adult beverage will be provided. This month's featured drink is Spiked Jones, spiked hot chocolate/coffee. Wine and light appetizers will also be served. Instruction starts at 6 pm. Cost is $15 ($3 for an additional canvas). Connemara Conservancy: Bird Walk - Allen

Bring your binoculars and field guides if you have them, and learn what to watch for in habits, characteristics and calls from Gailon and Rodney, both with Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society. You can expect about 30+ species. The walk is planned to take about three hours. All ages are welcome. We recommend wearing long pants, closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Free. Fort Worth Botanic Garden: Butterflies in the Garden - Fort Worth

Butterflies in the Garden – Thru April 3. 9am-4pm. During the five-week exhibit, 10,000, beautiful, exotic butterflies of every hue and size will be released in the conservatory. People will have a chance to walk among hundreds of fluttering butterflies from around the world and learn about the amazing life cycle of the butterfly.  Both the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and BRIT will offer programs and exhibits during the exhibit days to enhance attendees’ learning experience. $6-10. Free parking.
