The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of public meetings to get community input on Arlington's parks and natural spaces.Topics for discussion include: Recreation and Aquatic Centers, Natural Areas and the Environment, Trails and Greenways, Forestry and Beautification, Recreational Trends (dog parks, skateboard facilities, community gardens, etc.) and Park Development (athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, etc.). Meetings to be held March 25, March 28, April 1, April 4 and April 15. See link for locations and times.

The 39th Annual Easter Sunrise Service, hosted by the Summit Club; the Women of Flower Mound; and the Flower Mound Foundation, will be held at the summit of The Flower Mound, a 12-acre native prairie preserve managed by the Flower Mound Foundation. Wear comfortable clothing. Light refreshments and coffee will be served.

UT Arlington welcomes Emmy award-winner Jeff Corwin, host of the Animal Planet show "The Jeff Corwin Experience." Corwin has been working for the conservation of endangered species for nearly three decades. Corwin's book, "100 Heartbeats: The Race to Save Earth's Most Endangered Species," was published in 2009. Walk and talk while picking up trash and recyclables at the Sierra Club's adopted section of White Rock Lake Park. Area is a prairie restoration area, so there are always birds and wildflowers. Gloves, trash bags, etc. provided. Brunch after. Carol Nash: 214-824-0244.

Learn all about birds at this 4th annual bird celebration. Live owls, hawks, backyard chickens & Dallas Zoo penguins. Take your picture with a flock of baby chicks and join the Audubon Egg Hunt. Dissect owl pellets, fly homing pigeons, learn how to use binoculars and spotting scopes, take a guided birding hike and make bird feeders. Free with $5 parking.
