Summer is the perfect time for observing and learning about wildlife. Dan will share photography tips and tricks as well as his experiences as a wildlife photographer so you too can have fun with photography and learn how to capture moments in nature.

GFWSC's annual holiday party! This is a fun get together of talking environmental issues and anything else. The club will provide pizza. Beverages are on your own. There will be door prizes and a raffle for some local merchandise
This exciting event will attract the world’s foremost environmentalists, conservationists, scientists, academics, entrepreneurs, advocates and political leaders engaged in the environmental space today. Our expo will not take place in 2024 but will be returning in 2025. We hope to see you there!
This Saturday we will be continuing the install of a wire fence along California Crossing Road. This is intended to prevent trash from entering LB Houston's lake. Meet at the LB Houston California Crossing Trailhead.
Join us for an introduction to the meadow guided trail walk. This is an introductory trail walk which is appropriate for families and those new to The Meadow. Walks are led by Texas Master Naturalists and Meadow Volunteers.

Join us for a walk through the native prairie meadow at the Kiest Conservation Area in Oak Cliff. Our guide is John Watts, respected guest speaker on insects, and the man who keeps the Texas Discovery Garden’s Butterfly House stocked with beautiful butterflies.
In a continuing effort to help protect endangered rhinos as well as the ecosystems they live in, Chapters of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) throughout the nation, each sponsor an annual “Bowling for Rhinos” fundraising event.
This 2020 event will be a combination of virtual activities and socially distance friendly entertainment spanning the week of Aug. 15 through Aug. 23.

When we gather as a whole and unite to help create a spark in many by taking part in this helps the animal rights movement along even further. Let’s help amplify the voices of animals.

Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi will also be taking part in this Texas March for animals.
Come celebrate National Moth Week with a special nighttime presentation about the cousins of our butterfly friends. Texas Parks and Wildlife Urban Biologist Sam Kieschnick will lead this event.
These nocturnal insects have amazing patterns and colors, but special lights are needed to fully attract and appreciate them. We’ll be setting up some moth lights and moth sheets to entice the nocturnal bugs to visit for everyone to see.
Critterman and his live animals are engaging entertainment for children and adults. Meet and learn about animals from around the world that can make you squirm. We teach that these animals look the way they do to survive, not scare anyone.
