HOWDY HOLIDAYS
Local artist, India Hearne, is spreading cheer at her shop, Whiski Designs, nestled in the heart of the Dallas Farmer’s Market.
Her holiday cards ($3 each), all made from recycled cardstock, are as charming as they are clever – from a cowboy Santa shouting a Christmas greeting to a decked-out Longhorn wishing “MERRY TEXMAS, Y’ALL,” and even the all-too-relatable reminder: “AS LONG AS WE HAVE WINE, THE HOLIDAYS WILL BE FINE.”
India has also added a new batch of adorable wooden spoons ($10 each) to her lineup, perfect as stocking stuffers. Tie one on a bottle of wine for a thoughtful hostess gift – and don’t miss India’s other creations such as tea towels to t-shirts, drinkware to dog toys. Every piece reflects her warm, whimsical style, sustainable initiatives, and deep love of handmade craft.
Whether you’re gift hunting for something festive, functional, or just uniquely Dallas, Whiski Designs is a can’t-miss stop this holiday season. Whiski Designs at Dallas Farmers Market, 1011 S Pearl Expy, Suite 160A (near the parking garage).

HOT BREW
If you know Carrollton-based Texas Select Beverage Co. for their pioneering non-alcoholic lagers, you might be surprised to learn they also produce a full grouping of house-blended teas/ And they’re keeping everything “made in Texas.”
Founded by entrepreneur Manny Zelzer, and grown by him and his daughter Martha Zelzer, Texas Select began with non-alcoholic beer in 1981, which is now a worldwide phenomenon, then expanding to their teas.
Brews range from flavored blacks and greens to specialty blends for curling up with a cuppa’ in cooler weather. We especially love Just Strawberry and Old Fashioned Blackberry, that can be made hot in the winter and then as iced tea in the summer.
Texas Select BonFire is a spicy cinnamon black tea that brings warmth and coziness to cold weather.
Each family pack contains 8 filter packs, with 1 pack brewing up to half a gallon! Try it out and let us know what you think.
You can find Texas Select teas at many local grocery stores and specialty beverage shops, or simply buy direct from their website.
TS Bev Co offers online ordering and shipping — and often runs online promotions. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get a free tea with your next order.
Teas are $12.90 for 8 pre-made filter packs. Visit www.tsbevco.com to find a retailer or place an order.
SAFER SUNSCREEN
Joyville Inc. on Greenville Ave, home to four eco-minded companies in one, has expanded its sustainable offerings with Earnest John Honest Goods, a new clean-living general store that’s already beloved by DFW locals.
The shop features small-batch, earth-friendly body care made with simple, nutrient-rich, responsibly sourced ingredients that are gentle on people and the planet, perfect for any eco-conscious gift list.
A local favorite is their Sun Potions line, including a $5 Lip Balm and $20 mineral Sunscreen.
After meeting the Sun Potions makers at Oak Cliff Earth Day, we were struck by their dedication to purity: unlike conventional sunscreens filled with hormone-disrupting and reef-harming chemicals, Sun Potions uses clean, non-toxic mineral alternatives. My daughter-in-law just loves it!
For anyone wanting to support Texas makers committed to sustainability and ethical craftsmanship, visit all of Joyville’s shops: Favor the Kind, ROAM Fine Goods and Earnest John Honest Goods, for gifts that truly feel good.

THIS BALM IS THE BOMB
Guys get sore lips too! Texas Beard Co.’s all-natural lip balm is a simple, eco-friendly blend of pure beeswax, rich shea butter and silky coconut oil, ingredients chosen for their natural vitamins, antioxidants, and serious moisturizing power. It glides on smoothly without feeling greasy, offers a clean, light scent and creates a protective barrier against Texas sun, wind, and winter dryness.
Behind the brand is founder Jeff Vela, a Beaumont native who started Texas Beard Co. in 2014 as a passion project when he couldn’t find grooming products that matched his commitment to natural ingredients and Texas craftsmanship.
What began as small-batch beard oils made in his garage quickly grew into a full line of handcrafted goods.
