Luminant Energy to close Big Brown and Sandow coal plants
North Texans environmentalists are cheering the news that two notorious Texas smog monsters are meeting their demise. On Friday, Luminant Energy announced closures of its two-unit Sandow Power Plant in Milam County and its two-unit Big Brown Power Plant in Freestone County.

We had a great turnout for the Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards Voting! Nearly 4,500 ballots were cast online. 'Don't Frack with Denton' premiers Saturday at Dallas Video Fest
Back in 2014, UNT grad student and videographer Garrett Graham was following a local campaign to pass a fracking ban in Denton. As he filmed, he thought he’d hit on the ultimate feel-good environmental documentary. The ban was passed in November 2014 and the activists won.
