More than 30 environmental enthusiasts turned out for the Green Source DFW Summer Mixer on July 18 at The People’s Last Stand in Dallas.
This week, Green Source DFW kicks off the fun with a get-together on Thursday for the green set. On Saturday, you can visit a real butterfly farm or sink your teeth into a course on edible wild plants at the Bob Jones Nature Center. You can also help some local big cats by picking up some treats at a fundraising bake sale.
• A vegan bakery, an urban farmstead and a recycling bin are some of the green projects North Texans have sought backing for on Kickstarter.com.

Last Sunday, about 30 supporters were prepared to block the trucks spraying for mosquitos at Eden's Organic Garden Center and CSA Farm in Balch Springs. But instead of a demonstration, there was a celebration.

Last Saturday at Recycle Revolution in Deep Ellum, a collection of environmentalists, friends of owners Eddie Lott and Maria Lott, customers of their recycling business and the eco-friendly Deep Ellum community spent the afternoon partaking of the "hair of the dog" cure and relaxing after the frenetic pace of Earth Day. Translation: free beer, food trucks, live music and a whole lotta happy people. Here are pictures from the day:
