A local performance group, Watering Hole Collective, is presenting "I Am an Island," a surrealist dark comedy addressing global warming. The play follows May's journey to raise awareness of her sinking island through political demonstration. Nonprofit partners host post-show discussions, with play proceeds supporting these organizations.

"The Art of Texas State Parks: A Centennial Celebration, 1923–2023" is a picture book showcasing Texas state parks through artwork by 30 renowned artists. It captures the parks' landscapes and creativity while supporting the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.

Trolls in Austin's Pease Park defy typical negative connotations; Danish artist Thomas Dambo created an 18-foot eco-friendly sculpture, "Malin's Fountain," from recycled materials. This whimsical troll highlights water conservation, reflecting Dambo’s mission to encourage eco-awareness and revalue discarded items.

The Credo Community Choir will perform "Protecting Our Planet" at the Moody Performance Hall in Dallas on May 18, with concerts at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The choir's eco-themed program addresses climate change and promotes awareness and action, with tickets priced $25-$100.

The 6th annual Climate Crisis Art Exhibit in Waco, hosted by Waco Friends of the Climate, showcased over 100 artworks from Texas artists, judged on climate relevance, artistic excellence, and originality. Winners are displayed online; Judi Simon received first place with a $1,000 prize.

Waco Friends of the Climate's Climate Crisis Art Exhibit returns in person to promote climate change awareness through art. Held at Art Center Waco from April 4-29, the exhibit invites Texas artists to inspire emotional engagement and action on climate change, offering cash prizes. Submissions close April 1.

Dallas designer Breanna Cooke merges her skills in body paint and costume design with environmental activism, focusing on the coral reef crisis. Through her "artivism," she creates vibrant designs to initiate climate discussions and partners with the Glowing Glowing Gone campaign, producing sustainable activewear to promote ocean protection.

New public artworks in DFW parks highlight ecological themes. Patrick Dougherty's "Playin' Hooky" at Fort Worth Botanic Garden uses elm saplings, while "When Air Becomes Sky" and "Art + Knowledge" celebrate nature. Other installations include "Stacked Friends" in Dallas and Shelby David Meier’s exhibit at Nasher Sculpture Center.
