Native Prairies Association of Texas, Fort Worth Chapter: Stella Rowan Prairie Posse Workday Kick-Off - Tarrant County

Join the Fort Worth Chapter of NPAT for a morning at Stella Rowan Prairie.

Stella Rowan is a 125-acre remnant prairie located next to the Resource Connection campus in Tarrant County. For nearly a decade the prairie has been recovering from mowing, showing remarkable resilience and species diversity similar to Tandy Hills Prairie. It even offers a skyline view of Fort Worth.

Recent utility construction disturbed parts of the prairie, scraping topsoil and leaving areas vulnerable to invasive species. Fortunately, natural restoration is already underway, and with community support, this land can continue to recover.

We will gather for a short discussion of the project before heading out to the prairie. Activities may include a site introduction, seed collection and planting.

This tour is offered by donations. Suggested donation amount is $5. Donations benefit Native Prairies Association of Texas.
