Bird watchers of all skill levels are welcome to join our experts as they lead the way to locations for viewing of wintering sparrows, ducks and more. Imagination Yoga instructors lead kids ages 2-12 on an exciting story-based journey through yoga poses and kindness curriculum. LLELA’s covered pavilion, beautiful pollinator garden and forest are the setting for this engaging class. $10. Info: AimeeLeach@ImaginationYoga.com.

We may hear some bumps in the night, but have no fear...it’s probably just an armadillo. Howling coyotes, hooting owls and other nocturnal sounds will provide an out-of-the-ordinary hiking experience as our guides lead you down the Redbud Trail. No flashlights are necessary. This newly formed chapter is a branch of the Native Prairies Association of Texas and will represent 13 Blackland counties: Collin, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Henderson, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Navarro, Rains, Rockwall and Van Zandt.

Join us at our upcoming regional gathering! Our guest speaker will be Lesli Figueiredo, MA, LPC from Freedom Reigns Counseling who will be discussing the Role of Nature in Mental Health.

A few animals friends from the zoo will be joining us as well at this gathering...

Kate Rugroden, director of special projects for Bat World Sanctuary, will give a presentation based on her book, The Essential Bat. She will introduce these extraordinary creatures and the many ways they affect human life. Special attention is given to White Nose Syndrome, a fungal disease that is devastating bat populations throughout the U.S. Kate will bring bats to show as part of the program. Bat World Sanctuary is located in Cool, Texas near Mineral Wells for the rehabilitation of bats and has worldwide prominence. A suggested donation of $3 will help us defray program costs.

Please join Animal Connection of Texas this Black Friday to hold signs and pass out leaflets urging people to exclude animal products from their wardrobes and holiday shopping lists.
