Peter Payton, executive director of Groundwork Dallas, will discuss the development of the eco-classroom on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, the revitalization of the Trinity River and the development of the Trinity Greenbelt as a regional education and recreation epicenter. Free.
Take a leisurely hike around the Nature Center at one of the best times of the day to see wild birds. Bring binoculars and cameras. $10 includes admission fee.
Learn about the diversity of grasshoppers and round them up on this guided hike. $5 with paid admission.
Walk and talk while picking up trash and recyclables at the Sierra Club's adopted section of White Rock Lake Park. Area is a prairie restoration area, so there are always birds and wildflowers. Gloves, trash bags, etc. provided. Brunch after. Info: Carol Nash: 214-824-0244.

Stroll through the butterfly house and gardens then go inside for a book signing and Q & A session with Ms. Ajilvsgi, who works as a butterfly and plant specialist in Austin. Considered among the nation’s top plant and butterfly experts, she is the author of “Wildflowers of Texas” and “Butterfly Gardening for Texas.” Local butterfly expert Dale Clark will also be on hand to answer questions.
