Coppell Farmers Market - Coppell

 
The Coppell Farmers Market, established in 2003, has become one of the best community markets in the DFW area, a one-stop shopping trip for fresh, seasonal produce, pastured meats, eggs, breads and locally made foods. Both the customers and the farmers/producers have shaped the market to what it is today, guided by a community-based organization, the Coppell Farmers Market Committee. The guidelines for the Coppell Farmers Market state that all products sold at the Coppell Farmers Market shall be grown, raised, and/or produced directly by the vendor within the North Central Texas region, with the exception of full disclosure and approval of selling another’s product.

How to Care For Your Trees During a Drought
Matt Grubisich will cover the effects this past summer had on our trees, how you can
determine if your trees have been affected, what are the long-term consequence of the drought,
and how to properly water your trees -- both newly planted trees and established trees.
Matt Grubisich has a B.S in Urban Forestry and Forest Management from Iowa State
University and has been working in the Urban Forestry field for over 12 years in the DFW area.
Matt spent 8 years with the Texas Forest Service as the Regional Urban Forester for the Dallas
area. Following that, he spent 2 years as a private consulting arborist/urban forester specializing
in Oak Wilt and Urban Tree Canopy Assessments and management plans. He is now with the
Texas Trees Foundation as their Director of Urban Forestry, where he oversees the production of
5,000 trees in the TTF nursery and is in charge of project development and project
implementation for the planting of over 25,000 trees a year.

White Rock Local Market is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit farmers market where local farmers, ranchers, and artisans sell directly to our East Dallas neighborhood. White Rock Local Market is a meeting place for residents to buy fresh, local and healthy foods, and quality arts and crafts.

WRLM is held twice a month – the second and fourth Saturday – at The Green Spot Market and Fuels. Second Saturdays are Everything Markets and feature farmers, food artisans and arts and crafts. Fourth Saturdays are Just Farmers - farmers, producers, and food artisans.

White Rock Local Market - Dallas

Attracting Hummingbirds - Arlington

Steve Woodward, avid birder and owner of Wild Bird Center, will teach you how to attract hummingbirds with plants and feeders to your yards and gardens. Also learn about common Texas hummingbirds and their habits during this adult workshop at River Legacy Living Science Center.
