Farm Girl and co-host of Garden Inspirations radio show Donelle Simmons will discuss how to select seeds and how to find them through trusted sources as well as saving seeds. Genetically modified seeds will also be discussed. Free.
Most plant diseases and insect problems are caused by bad plant nutrition. Often these problems can be fixed through proper nutrition and chemical modifications. Frank Schultz of Texas Plant & Soil Lab will explain soil composition and the impact of water on soil nutrients specific to Coppell by analyzing the city of Coppell water composition report. Learn what is needed to achieve optimum nutrition for your plants. Free.
Help remove invasive plants that are growing by leaps and bounds with the warm weather. Target plants are Johnson grass and trumpet vine especially, but thre are plenty of others we’ll tackle as well. Most work will occur in the butterfly garden and along the paths. Bring work gloves, sun hats and sun protection, water, and your favorite tools for weeding.
