Walk and talk while picking up trash and recyclables at the Sierra Club's adopted section of White Rock Lake Park. Area is a prairie restoration area, so there are always birds and wildflowers. Gloves, trash bags, etc. provided. Brunch after. Meet at Love of the Lake office, NE corner Garland Rd and Buckner Blvd, Dallas. Look for people drinking free juice and coffee. 3-week session will be held each Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. The camp will explore self and community impact & ways to live green ending with “A dream for a better tomorrow.” Register at ejdry54@yahoo.com. $50 per child, ages 4-9. Women in the Environment is hosting is this tour of the only net-zero energy school in Texas and the largest net-zero energy school in the U.S. Meet at Spring Creek Barbeque, 3514 West Airport Freeway, irving, for lunch at 11:45. Meet at the Lady Bird Johnson Middle School, 3601 Pioneer Drive, Irving, at 1:15 p.m. Parking is in the front (south side) of the school. Enter through the main doors on the south side of the building. All visitors must bring valid photo ID (drivers license) to be processed through the school’s security system prior to the tour. The Urban Bird Treaty/Urban Conservation Treaty for Migratory Birds is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife grant program that works with cities to promote conservation of migratory birds through education, conservation and habitat improvement.
Rachel will tell us how Kennedale was awarded the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service grant (one of only 2 cities in Texas and less than 20 across the U.S.) and about the various aspects of their program. She'll talk about Kennedale's accomplishments with the program as well as adaptations needed to reach the program's goals….and how this information might help other groups that might want to learn from their experience.

Water is an increasing concern for Texas. As the climate warms, we expect to have less water. Meanwhile, our population is growing. How can we work together to ensure that all Texans have access to adequate supplies of fresh, clean water--and what religious principles and practices might offer guidance along the way?
