EarthX cancels mega-expo amid nationwide closures
EarthX cancels its Earthx2020 Expo due to COVID-19, but will hold the Earthx2020 Conferences and Film Festival virtually with National Geographic Society. Most events, including the 50th Earth Day Celebration, are set for livestreaming, with some live events scheduled for the fall.

'The Living Coast' rescheduled for June 14
The Austin-based band Montopolis has rescheduled "The Living Coast" multi-media environmental performance at the Texas Theatre in Dallas to June 14, 2020. Originally set for March, the show was postponed due to COVID-19 guidelines. Tickets were refunded, and updates will be shared on Facebook.

Dallas and Fort Worth ISDs take steps to address climate
Dallas and Fort Worth ISDs initiate climate actions following campaigns by activists Molly Rooke and John MacFarlane. Fort Worth ISD formed a Sustainability Committee, while Dallas ISD approved an Environment and Climate Action Resolution, aiming for sustainability, electric buses, renewable energy, and waste reduction.

'The Living Coast' comes to Dallas March 22
Montopolis, an Austin-based band, will perform "The Living Coast" on March 22 at the Texas Theater in Dallas. This multimedia show combines live music, narration, and imagery to explore the Texas Gulf Coast's beauty and complexity. Tickets are $20, sponsored by Green Source DFW, Memnosyne Institute, and Dallas Sierra Club.

North Texas activist Wendel Withrow will discuss Edward Abbey's influential memoir "Desert Solitaire" on February 19 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Owl meets shocking end in Fort Worth alley
A great horned owl met an untimely end in our Fort Worth neighborhood last month. My husband and I discovered him one Sunday morning. We kept hearing crows yelling in a nearby tree. Like bluejays, crows will join forces to scare predators away.
