Trash Dash promotes Dallas park cleanup

Bicyclists and trail runners at Harry S. Moss Park in Dallas know the 284-acre wooded hideaway is an urban treasure. Now the park’s loyal fans and an army of eco-friendly high school students are organizing an event aimed at keeping the wild space from disappearing under a mountain of trash.

But a spokesperson for Wolfgang Puck Catering Dallas says the company works with sustainability partners across DFW on a regular basis. 

Dallas to mandate recycling for multi-family housing

Dallas City Council is drafting a multi-family recycling ordinance due to low recycling rates and high landfill usage. Currently, recycling is voluntary with less than 25% participation among multi-family properties. Dallas aims to follow Fort Worth's lead to achieve its Zero Waste goals.

Last month, Fort Worth City Council voted to approve the city's 20-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. As a result of widespread citizen participation and advocacy, the final document included many more program and policy goals to reduce waste and increase recycling than originally planned.
