Solar-powered IKEA to open in Grand Prairie Wednesday

IKEA's new solar-powered Grand Prairie location opens tomorrow, featuring a 290,000-square-foot building with a 1.25 MW solar array of 2,800 panels that will supply 55-65% of its energy. This marks IKEA's 47th U.S. solar project, enhancing its sustainability and commitment to renewable energy and green corporate practices.

North Texas greenies gather for Green Source DFW Awards 

North Texas environmentalists celebrated achievements at the Green Source DFW Sustainability Leadership Awards, hosted by the Memnosyne Institute. Wendel Withrow led the event, announcing a partnership with Oak Cliff Earth Day and recognizing winners in various categories, including DCCCD, Recycle Revolution, and Liveable Arlington.

My son was home from college recently and asked how to sharpen his kitchen knives. We advised him to just go buy some new ones.

Wrong answer.

Turns out Americans are notorious in just dumping their knives and scissors when they become dull, along with our clogged vacuums, blenders with broken motors and microwaves that are on the fritz.
