Native Prairies Association of Texas, Fort Worth Chapter: Lessons from Prairie Restorations at The Nature Conservancy - Zoom

Chris Helzer will discuss the similarities and differences between prairies at the northern and southern ends of the Great Plains.

Chris is a noted prairie ecologist and The Nature Conservancy’s Director of Science and Stewardship in Nebraska. Chris is responsible for the work at their two main preserves in Nebraska – the Platte River Prairies and the Niobrara Valley Preserve. He also evaluates and captures lessons from the Conservancy’s land management and restoration work and shares those lessons with other land managers.

Perhaps most importantly, he works to raise awareness about the value of prairies and prairie conservation through photography, writing and presentations.

You can learn much more about Chris and his approach to prairie restoration on his blog: The Prairie Ecologist
