North Texas sustainability hub to launch youth network

RCE North Texas, launched as a sustainability hub, is creating a youth network to connect young people on environmental issues. Led by UTA's Bhargavi Karumuri Jeyarajah, the project targets university and high school students, aiming to foster collaboration through networking, newsletters, and social media.

Wanted: Texas women to collaborate on green book

Joan Meeks, a Fort Worth recycling business owner, seeks Texas women collaborators to co-author a sustainability book for Earth Day's 50th anniversary. Each contributor writes a 2,000-word essay with a call to action. Interested writers should contact Meeks.

Eastfield College to host free sustainability summit

Eastfield College will host the free annual DCCCD sustainability summit on November 8, featuring Ian Garrett, who will discuss creativity in sustainability. Attendees can explore five learning tracks, including Social Equity and Resource Efficiency, to address various sustainability challenges. Lunch is provided, pre-registration requested.

EarthX gives sustainability a giant forum at Fair Park

EarthX, founded by Dallas philanthropist Trammell S. Crow, is a large Earth Day festival held April 26-28 at Fair Park, Dallas. It features eco-exhibitors, conferences, the EarthxFilm festival, the Tiny House Village, the Vegan Village, and new additions like the EarthX app and EarthxLeague.

New North Texas center to serve as hub for sustainability experts

Sustainability advocates from DFW gathered at UTA to launch the Regional Center of Expertise North Texas. The center, led by Meghna Tare, aims to advance sustainable education without implementing policies and will focus on the UN’s goals in education, health, and sustainable communities. Five committees will guide its initiatives.
